Suspect Boxed In and Arrested After Assault and Police Chase in Sandy Springs

A man was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly assaulting a woman and fleeing from police on April 9, 2025, according to the Sandy Springs Police Department.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 5861 Roswell Road following a report from a third-party witness who saw a Black male in a white shirt and pants physically assaulting a female in a parking lot. When officers arrived on scene, they found a visibly distressed woman crying in the parking lot and observed a male matching the suspect’s description leaving the area in a white Kia Optima.
The responding officer made a U-turn and began pursuing the vehicle, which was headed toward I-285 westbound. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver did not comply and fled. A vehicle pursuit ensued, and officers eventually executed a box-in maneuver, successfully stopping the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect, identified as Keith Ford, was charged with the following offenses:
- Reckless Driving
- Felony Fleeing and Eluding
- Family Violence Battery
- Aggravated Assault
