Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Landings at 237 Apartment Complex in Augusta

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in connection with the June 2, 2025, fatal shooting at the Landings at 237 apartment complex on Wrightsboro Road in Augusta, GA.

Deputies responded to the complex at approximately 8:54 a.m. on June 2nd after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found 25-year-old Jerome Burley suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Burley was transported to Doctors Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 9:26 a.m.

Following an extensive investigation, authorities identified a suspect vehicle and tracked it to Thomson, Georgia. With assistance from the Thomson Police Department, the vehicle was located, and further leads were developed.

On June 12, 2025, investigators detained Levaun Green Jr. in Thomson. After being interviewed by Richmond County investigators, Green was arrested and charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
