Multi-State Porch Piracy Ring Busted in Gwinnett County; $6 Million in Electronics Seized

The Gwinnett County Police Department announced the takedown of a large-scale criminal organization responsible for a multi-state porch piracy and electronics fencing operation. The investigation, which began in November 2024, led to the recovery of over 5,000 stolen electronic devices valued at more than $6 million.
The case broke open when suspects Cristopher Guerrero and Aldopher Valdez Sosa were caught stealing packages. Over the following seven months, detectives uncovered an extensive network involved in theft, fencing, and shipping stolen electronics across Georgia and the Southeastern U.S., with some items potentially sent overseas.
Investigators used video surveillance, the FLOCK camera system, and extensive surveillance of multiple residences to identify the suspects and their operations. Search warrants were executed on May 29 at six locations across Gwinnett County, Doraville, and Johns Creek.
The coordinated operation involved Gwinnett County’s Criminal Investigations Division, SWAT, Special Investigations Section, K9, Aviation, and several other units, along with assistance from the Johns Creek Police Department, Doraville Police Department, FBI, HSI, CBP, DEA, GBI, and ERO.
Search results included:
- 10 suspects arrested
- 24 arrest warrants served
- 8 vehicles seized
- Over 5,000 electronic devices recovered
- $1.2 million in U.S. currency seized
- 5 firearms recovered
More than 2,000 of the recovered devices were confirmed stolen or fraudulently obtained and have been returned to their rightful owners.

- Cristopher Adonis Guerrero (25), Lawrenceville, GA (Warrants Issued)
- Aldopher Valdez Sosa (22), Lawrenceville, GA (Warrants Issued)
Charges include violations of the Georgia RICO Act, Retail Property Fencing, Theft by Taking, Theft by Receiving, Theft by Deception, and Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime.
The investigation remains ongoing with the Gwinnett County Police Department working alongside HSI, the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, and the State Attorney General’s Office.
