Macon Man Arrested After Reckless Driving Incident in Jones County

On June 11, 2025, Jones County deputies arrested Rajesh Patel of Macon following reports of reckless driving. A BOLO was issued after Patel was seen speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road, and running a red light.

A Jones County deputy located Patel’s vehicle on Highway 49 and attempted a traffic stop. Patel continued driving toward Macon before eventually pulling over. Upon contact, deputies observed signs of impairment, including slurred speech and the odor of alcohol. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and Patel was placed under arrest.

Patel faces multiple charges including DUI, open container violation, failure to maintain lane, following too closely, suspended registration, and driving while unlicensed.
