Two Semis Collide on I-16 in Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a collision involving two semi-trailers that occurred Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 16 West in Macon. The crash was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center on Wednesday, June 11th, at 3:14 p.m.

According to officials, the two semi-trailers were traveling westbound when the collision happened before Exit 2, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Coliseum Drive. No injuries were reported.

All westbound lanes of Interstate 16 were temporarily blocked following the accident but are expected to reopen soon.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has requested the public to avoid the area until the scene is cleared and traffic lanes are fully reopened.
