Georgia AG, 25 Others Back Trump’s National Guard Deployment After California Riots

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, joined by 25 Republican Attorneys General from across the country, released a joint statement supporting former President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard in response to recent violent unrest in California.
The statement, issued Monday, condemned what the AGs described as “violent agitators” rioting under the “false banner of protest.” The coalition expressed strong support for law enforcement and criticized local California leadership for what they called a failure to maintain order.
“We will always defend the right to peacefully protest, but there’s nothing peaceful about arson, assault, and anarchy,” the statement read. “If you set police cars on fire, throw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement, and loot businesses, you must be held accountable.”
The attorneys general further warned against the “normalization of mob violence” and declared their intent to stand against political leaders who “put politics above public safety.”
Carr led the 26-state coalition, which includes the Attorneys General of Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia.
