Suspect Charged in Sandersville Apartment Shooting; Victim Stable

UPDATE: With the help of Washington County deputies, a second individual has been arrested. On Monday, June 9th, 18-year-old Dayhmon Williams was charged with Aggravated Assault.

The Sandersville Police Department has charged 21-year-old Jabren Jekhi Duggan with aggravated assault in connection to an early Saturday morning shooting at the Sunrise Apartment Complex (319 East Church Street). Duggan has since turned himself in and is currently held at the Washington County Jail pending a bond hearing in Washington County Superior Court.

Sandersville Police Officers and Detectives, along with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to Sunrise Apartments during the overnight hours in response to a shooting report. Upon arrival, they located one individual who had been shot. The victim was transported to a hospital and remains in stable condition.

Authorities stated that all evidence suggests the shooting is an isolated incident with no active threats to the community. Both agencies are continuing to work diligently to apprehend any other responsible parties, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
