Murder Suspect Captured, Two Others Arrested in $13K Drug Bust at Gainesville Home

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) arrested a wanted murder suspect and two other individuals during a major drug investigation at a Gainesville residence on Wednesday, June 4.
Acting on a search warrant for a home in the 1500 block of Woodland Way, the HCSO SWAT Team executed a tactical entry around 6:30 a.m. due to the unknown number of occupants and possible firearms inside.
Inside the residence, investigators located 18-year-old Kyland Rochod Williams of Monroe, who was wanted by Gainesville Police for malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault. Williams attempted to flee by climbing down the back deck but was quickly apprehended by SWAT personnel. Authorities noted that Williams had been staying at the residence but is not currently implicated in the drug case.
During the search, SIU investigators seized an estimated $13,000 worth of narcotics:
- 2 grams of cocaine
- 280 THC vape cartridges
- 12 ounces of THC wax
- Approximately 3.5 pounds of marijuana
Also recovered were an AK pistol, AR pistol, handgun, and approximately $1,000 in cash.
Two other individuals, identified as Cruz Alejandro Vargas, 18, and Angel Miguel Carrera, 19, were arrested at the scene. Both reside at the home.
Vargas faces felony charges including:
- Sale of cocaine
- Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
- Possession of THC oil with intent to distribute
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
Carrera is charged with possession of THC oil (felony) and possession of drugs not in original container (misdemeanor).
The HCSO Warrant Service Unit and members of the Uniform Patrol Division also assisted in the operation. Additional charges and arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
