Gunfire Exchange Prompts GBI Investigation After Suspect Shoots at Camilla Officer

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation following an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Camilla.
At approximately 11:40 a.m., the Camilla Police Department requested GBI assistance after an incident on West Church Street. Earlier that day, a woman reported her vehicle had been shot at while passing a residence. She was not injured, but her vehicle was damaged. According to the woman, she was familiar with the individual suspected of firing the shots, though she reported no personal conflict with him.
Camilla Police officers responded to the residence, where they observed a man, later identified as Titus Glen Robinson, 53, of Camilla, walking inside the home. As one officer approached, Robinson fired multiple shots in the officer’s direction. The officer was not struck. A second officer returned fire, prompting Robinson to retreat into the house.
Shortly after, Robinson exited the residence and surrendered without further incident. He was not injured.
The GBI’s investigation remains ongoing. Once completed, the case will be turned over to the South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
