Atlanta Man Arrested for Felony Murder in April Shooting

Atlanta Homicide Unit investigators have arrested 41-year-old Robert Carter in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on April 16, 2025, at 1203 Lee St. SW in the Oakland City area. The incident, initially classified as a “Felon Killed by Private Citizen,” was further investigated, revealing the decedent was shot during the commission of a forcible felony.
Investigators determined that Robert Carter was driving the decedent at the time of the incident. As a result, arrest warrants were secured for Carter on charges of Felony Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and two counts of Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery.
Carter was taken into custody on May 30, 2025, in the Oakland City neighborhood by the Atlanta Police Department’s Fugitive Unit and officers assigned to the Zone 4 Field Investigation Team.
