Woman Arrested, Man Wanted After Meth Bust in Towns County

Towns County Sheriff’s Office Drug Investigators executed a search warrant on May 21, 2025, at a residence on Bugscuffle Road in Hiawassee following a month-long narcotics investigation. During the search, investigators seized suspected methamphetamine and multiple types of pills. The two individuals targeted in the investigation were not present at the time.
On May 27, 2025, Laurel Taylor Lambert, 40, of Hayesville, North Carolina, was arrested on a warrant issued during the search and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine.
Jason Levon Garrett, 48, of Hiawassee, is still at large. Arrest warrants issued on May 21 charge Garrett with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, three additional counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects.
Investigators believe Garrett had been dealing drugs from the residence for at least three months. Anyone with information on Garrett’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Towns County Sheriff’s Office or call 911.
