Two Nashville Teens Charged in Thomaston Bank Robbery

The Thomaston Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection with the February 20, 2025, robbery of United Bank located at 1111 Hwy 19 North.
The suspects, identified as Jaylin Smith, 18, and Andrew Holsapple, 19, both of Nashville, Tennessee, are now in custody. Investigators say Smith entered the bank and committed the robbery while Holsapple waited nearby in a vehicle.
Authorities determined both individuals were already wanted in Tennessee for their roles in a similar bank robbery in Nashville that occurred in January 2025. At the time of the Thomaston robbery, the suspects had been staying at a local hotel while visiting a friend in the area.
Smith is currently being held in Tennessee. Holsapple was arrested in Thomaston last week on an unrelated matter, during which detectives uncovered his connection to the Nashville robbery. A subsequent investigation linked both suspects to the Thomaston bank robbery as well.
Smith and Holsapple now face charges related to both the United Bank robbery and the prior incident in Tennessee. They remain in custody.
Thomaston Police Chief Mike Richardson praised the efforts of his department, stating, “Thanks to the tireless work of our investigative team and the dedication of our Patrol Division officers, we were able to bring this case to a successful resolution.”
