Richmond County Marshal’s Office Fires Sergeant Over Forgery, Stolen Time Allegations

A Richmond County Marshal’s Office sergeant has been terminated following an internal investigation into allegations of misconduct involving forgery and stolen time.
On May 21, 2025, the agency began looking into claims that Sergeant Brittney Brown had submitted forged documents related to military leave and was claiming pay for time not worked.
The investigation concluded that Brown had violated agency policy. She was immediately terminated from her position.
Given the findings, the case has been referred to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) for further review and potential criminal charges.
