Two Juveniles Charged with Felony Murder in Norcross Shooting Death

Two juveniles are facing felony murder charges following a shooting incident in unincorporated Norcross on May 15 that left a 17-year-old dead and two others wounded.
Officers from the West Precinct responded to a report of a person shot in the area of Pirkle Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Andrew Gatlin, 17, of Lilburn, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Gatlin was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
While investigators from the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit canvassed the scene and conducted interviews, authorities were notified that two other individuals had arrived at a children’s hospital in Atlanta, both with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Preliminary information suggests that the three individuals met on Pirkle Road for an unknown reason, which led to a disagreement and an exchange of gunfire.
The two juveniles are currently being charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
