Atlanta Police have arrested Darius Taylor, 30, in connection with a burglary that occurred at the Cloud 9 Smoke Shop on Memorial Drive NE in late April.

On April 28, 2025, around 4 a.m., officers responded to a burglary in progress at 415 Memorial Dr. NE. Upon arrival, they observed a male suspect, wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, exiting the Cloud 9 Smoke Shop. Officers ordered him to surrender, but he fled on foot into a wooded area. Despite a K-9 unit being deployed to search the perimeter, the suspect was not located at that time. Surveillance footage from the business helped identify a possible suspect, and a Be-On-The-Lookout (BOLO) alert was subsequently issued.

On May 1, 2025, Zone 6 officers located a male matching the BOLO description near 365 Moreland Ave. The suspect, identified as Darius Taylor, was wearing the same clothing seen in the burglary surveillance footage. Officers detained Taylor, confirmed his identity, and arrested him for burglary/breaking and entering. Multiple stolen items from the Cloud 9 Smoke Shop were reportedly found in Taylor’s clothing and backpack.

Taylor was interviewed by detectives at the Atlanta Police Public Safety Headquarters before being transported to Fulton County Jail without incident.
