Two Arrested in Savannah Home Invasion and Shooting

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a home invasion and shooting that occurred on May 19 in the 700 block of E. 53rd Street, leaving an adult male with serious injuries.

The Savannah Police Department (SPD) responded to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 2:55 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found a female adult victim who reported her house had been broken into and there was gunfire. While at the scene, authorities received a report of an adult male suspect arriving at Memorial Health University Medical Center with gunshot wounds; he was later identified as Kyseem Hawk, 19.

During the initial investigation, officers stopped Jamile Pointer, 19, near the crime scene and found him in possession of a firearm. After being detained and questioned, Pointer was arrested and charged with burglary.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Kyseem Hawk, who has been charged with home invasion, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during a crime.
