Arrest Made in Macon Hit and Run on Poplar Street

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest in connection with a hit and run investigation involving a pedestrian on Poplar Street that occurred early Sunday morning.
The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:03 a.m., with witnesses reporting a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located a 36-year-old male victim who had been hit. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
Investigators identified 35-year-old Mykia Tenequia Williams as the driver involved in the hit and run.
On May 20, 2025, at 12:15 p.m., Williams was taken into custody by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office H.E.A.T Unit at a residence in the 4600 block of Sylvester Circle. She was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center and has been charged with Hit and Run, resulting in serious injury or death.
Williams is currently being held without bond.
