Athens Man Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges Following Search Warrant

A 67-year-old Athens man, Will Crawford Dean, was arrested on April 9th, 2025, after the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at his residence in the 300 block of Westchester Drive.

The search of Dean’s home resulted in the discovery of a significant quantity of narcotics and U.S. currency. Officers located over 8 ounces of both powder and crack cocaine, along with oxycodone pills and packages of marijuana intended for distribution. Authorities also seized $4200 in U.S. currency and Dean’s vehicle during the search.

As a result of the findings, Will Crawford Dean has been charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Schedule II with Intent to Distribute.
