GBI Investigates Shooting and Fatal Crash Following Convenience Store Incident in Warrenton

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating a shooting incident at a Warrenton convenience store that preceded a fatal car crash. The Warrenton Police Department requested the GBI’s involvement in the investigation.

According to the GBI, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Randall Boyd, 35, of Warrenton, GA, entered the Jet Convenience Store located on Main Street in Warrenton and discharged a firearm at a woman. Multiple other individuals were present inside the store at the time of the shooting. Fortunately, no one sustained any injuries during the incident.

Following the shooting, Boyd left the convenience store in a vehicle. While traveling on Legion Drive, the vehicle he was driving veered off the road and crashed into the woods along the shoulder.

Authorities located Boyd within the crashed vehicle, where he was found with an apparent gunshot wound. The Warren County Coroner pronounced Boyd deceased at the scene of the crash.

The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the vehicle crash. The GBI’s investigation into the preceding shooting incident at the Jet Convenience Store is active and ongoing.
