Suspect in January Murder Surrenders to Fulton County Authorities
Markius Gillespie

22-year-old Markius Gillespie self-surrendered at the Fulton County Jail on May 10, 2024. He faces charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Theft by Taking.

Gillespie’s surrender follows a previous incident on January 6, 2025, at approximately 2:48 p.m., when Atlanta Police Zone 4 Officers responded to a report of a person shot at 395 Holderness St. SW. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 19-year-old male victim, Ashton Jackson, with a gunshot wound, who was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. Homicide Investigators responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Authorities emphasize that an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
