Former Troup County Employee Arrested for Payroll System Misuse

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged 35-year-old Wesleigh Morgan Gaddy of Hogansville, GA, a former employee of the Troup County Board of Commissioners, with one count of Theft by Taking. Additional charges are expected.

On Monday, May 5, 2025, the Troup County District Attorney’s Office requested the GBI to investigate a potential theft involving Gaddy, who previously worked as the Payroll and Benefit Generalist for the county. The investigation revealed that Gaddy allegedly misused the Troup County Board of Commissioners’ Payroll System.

Gaddy has been booked into the Troup County Jail.

Authorities currently believe that no other employees were involved in the theft. However, the GBI stated that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
