Reynolds Police Stop Leads to Felony Drug, Gun Charges for Two Men

On May 9, 2025, a routine traffic stop in Reynolds resulted in the arrest of two men on felony drug and firearm charges.

Reynolds Police Sergeant Harrell initiated a stop of a green Dodge Challenger after observing the driver and passenger not wearing seat belts and noticing an expired vehicle tag decal. Officer Joiner arrived to assist with the stop.

During the course of the traffic stop, Sergeant Harrell developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The search yielded a felony amount of marijuana, along with scales, baggies, and other items indicative of drug distribution. Authorities also discovered that both the driver and the passenger were in possession of loaded firearms.

The driver, identified as Jabin Ford, a 21-year-old black male from Butler, Georgia, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute (Felony) and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (Felony).

The passenger, identified as Ladarius Johnson, a 21-year-old black male from Reynolds, Georgia, was also arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute (Felony) and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (Felony).

The Reynolds Police Department noted that the investigation is ongoing and further charges may be filed. They also expressed their gratitude to Taylor County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Sheffield and Aldridge for their assistance.
