Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck on I-75 North in Bibb County

A pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 75 northbound near the Pio Nono Avenue onramp. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the call just before 6:00 a.m.

According to reports, a 34-year-old male was driving a 2008 Honda Accord northbound on Interstate 75 when he did not see a male pedestrian walking in his lane of travel and struck him.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner’s office. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin has been notified.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the accident, and no charges have been filed at this time. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
