Driver Charged in Fatal Rigdon Road Shooting in Columbus
Calvin Johnson, 37, has been arrested and charged with Murder (Party to a Crime) in connection with the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Jaylon Wesley on April 11, 2025.
Columbus Police Officers responded to the 900 block of Rigdon Road and found Wesley deceased in the middle of Colorado Street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:36 p.m. by Muscogee County Coroner Dustin Harrelson.
The Violent Crimes Unit’s investigation identified Johnson as the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident. He was taken into custody on April 25, 2025, and is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
