Arrest Made in Savannah Shooting that Injured Two

The Savannah Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Donnell Oneil Smith in connection with a shooting that occurred on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the 5500 block of Abercorn Street.

Smith is facing multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, simple battery, and stalking.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female with serious gunshot wounds in a commercial parking lot and an injured adult male inside a nearby business. Both victims received medical attention at the scene and were transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment. A third victim, who was not injured, was later located at a nearby location.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or submit an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app.
