Three Teenagers Injured in Downtown Macon Shooting

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred near a parking lot on Mulberry Street just before 1:13 a.m. on Saturday.
Deputies patrolling the downtown area heard gunshots and responded to the scene, where witnesses reported a large gathering of teenagers. Dispatch later informed deputies that a 17-year-old male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and two female victims (17 and 19 years old) had been transported to Atrium Health hospital by personal vehicle. All three victims were treated and released after being evaluated for their injuries.
Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
