Convicted Felon Arrested After Accidental Self-Shooting During Savannah Altercation

Eliseo Temario Villalongo, 42, has been arrested by the Savannah Police Department (SPD) for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon following a response to a self-inflicted shooting on the 1200 block of E. 55th St.
On April 10th at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area after receiving ShotSpotter alerts. Upon arrival, they observed a vehicle speeding away and initiated a traffic stop.
The driver, Villalongo, an adult male, had sustained a gunshot wound to his calf. Investigators determined that Villalongo had been involved in a physical altercation with another adult male victim. During the altercation, Villalongo produced a handgun which accidentally discharged, causing his injury.
As a result, Elisio Villalongo, 42, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and felony obstruction by intimidation to law enforcement.
