Fayette County Fugitive Apprehended on Aggravated Assault and Terrorist Threat Warrants

On Thursday, April 10th, a wanted fugitive, Richard Powell, residing in Fayette County, was successfully apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Office Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Fayette County Warrant Services Unit.
Powell was being sought by the South Fulton Police Department for Aggravated Assault stemming from a recent shooting incident in South Fulton. Additionally, he had an outstanding warrant from the East Point Police Department for terrorist threats.
During the execution of the arrest warrant and subsequent search of Powell’s Fayette County residence, authorities discovered a felony amount of illegal narcotics and a stolen firearm.
This successful apprehension underscores the effective collaboration between local and federal law enforcement agencies, resulting in the removal of a dangerous individual from the community and ensuring the safety of Fayette County.
