Columbus Police Department Operation Nets 26 Arrests, Seizes Firearms and Narcotics

A multi-agency crime suppression detail conducted by the Columbus Police Department (CPD) on Saturday, April 5, 2025, resulted in 26 arrests and the filing of 52 charges.

The operation, carried out by CPD’s Special Operations Unit and Bureau of Patrol Services in collaboration with the Muscogee County School District Police Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, aimed to target criminal activity within the city.

During the detail, officers cleared 12 outstanding warrants and seized four firearms, two of which were confirmed to be stolen.

Additional enforcement activity included 222 traffic stops, 326 total contacts, and the issuance of 111 citations.

The operation also led to the recovery of the following narcotics:

  • 25.4 grams of Fentanyl (estimated street value: $2,540)
  • 135.3 grams of Marijuana ($1,353)
  • 86 pills/12.6 grams of Ecstasy ($430)
  • 1.4 grams of Cocaine ($140)
  • 0.3 grams of Methamphetamine ($20)

Authorities also seized one vehicle and $673 in currency as part of the operation.

The Columbus Police Department emphasized its ongoing commitment to addressing violent crime and drug activity through proactive enforcement efforts and strong partnerships with local and federal law enforcement agencies.
