Banks County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Deputies’ Inappropriate Comments, Feticide Allegations

The Banks County Sheriff’s Office has launched an administrative investigation into a social media post containing video footage of deputies making inappropriate comments regarding a child. The agency is also investigating alarming claims of possible feticide connected to previous domestic abuse incidents at the same location.
According to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, April 8th, the social media post surfaced on Sunday evening, prompting an immediate internal review. Deputies attempted to contact the individual who posted the video to gather more information at the residence mentioned, but were informed that the complainant had left on Sunday night, and the provided contact information has been unreliable.
The Sheriff’s Office noted that the actual resident and parent of the child referred to in the video did not wish to file a formal complaint against their personnel. The parent reportedly indicated that the complainant had left the area knowing an investigation was underway.
Despite the inability to contact the original poster, the administrative investigation into the deputies’ conduct is ongoing. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability, stating that any policy violations will be disciplined according to established procedures and professional standards.
The incident in question occurred on March 25, 2025, when deputies arrived to execute an arrest warrant at a residence on Blacks Creek Church Road. During the operation, two additional individuals with outstanding warrants were discovered and taken into custody.
While serving the warrant, deputies reported finding methamphetamine in plain view, along with drug paraphernalia (syringes), in the same room as a child and one of the offenders. This led to a subsequent search warrant to locate any additional narcotics.
During this process, deputies were alerted to disturbing claims regarding possible feticide linked to previous domestic abuse incidents, with reports of two deceased infants on the property. The Sheriff’s Office obtained an additional search warrant to investigate these allegations.
The Banks County Sheriff’s Office stated that both the administrative review of the deputies’ comments and the feticide investigation are being treated with the utmost seriousness. The drug-related offense cases are also continuing. The agency stressed that the safety and well-being of the community is their top priority and they are committed to thoroughly examining all aspects of this complex situation.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed its appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation during this sensitive investigation and reiterated its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
