Wanted Felon from Stockbridge Apprehended in Monroe County After Pursuit

A man wanted for violent felonies in Stockbridge was apprehended in Monroe County on Saturday afternoon following a brief vehicle chase.
On April 5, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Monroe County Deputies were alerted by the Butts County Sheriff’s Office to be on the lookout for a white Honda Sedan missing its front bumper. The vehicle was associated with a suspect wanted in connection with an incident that occurred around 3:15 p.m. at the Walmart in Stockbridge, involving Aggravated Assault/Battery, Armed Robbery, and Carjacking.
At approximately 4:20 p.m., Monroe County Deputies located the described Honda and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 40-year-old Justin Tocknell, led deputies on a short pursuit lasting about three minutes before stopping his vehicle.
During the traffic stop, authorities confirmed that Tocknell was the individual wanted by the Stockbridge Police Department for the earlier violent crimes. Further investigation revealed that Tocknell had been recently released from Central State Prison on March 4th, 2025, where he had served time for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer.
Justin Tocknell was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond pending transfer to the Stockbridge Police Department.
