Muscogee County Jail Deputy Arrested for Contraband Smuggling

Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ryan Khalil Jones has been arrested on multiple felony charges after an investigation revealed he was smuggling contraband into the Muscogee County Jail.

Over several months, the Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit investigated allegations of contraband being brought into the jail. Evidence confirmed that Deputy Jones was responsible for supplying inmates with illegal items.

On April 1, 2025, Jones was arrested without incident by Sheriff’s Office investigators and booked into the Muscogee County Jail. He faces the following seven felony charges:

  • Felony – Violation of Oath of Office
  • Felony – Giving Prohibited Items To Inmate – 2 Counts
  • Felony – Crossing the Guard Line – 2 Counts
  • Felony – Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
  • Felony – Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
