Atlanta Woman Arrested for False 911 Call Leading to Serious Consequences

On April 1, 2025, Atlanta Police arrested 31-year-old Demetria Spence in connection with a false 911 call that resulted in a serious public safety response.

Spence was charged under O.C.G.A. 16-10-28 for Transmitting a False Public Alarm, specifically under subsection (d)(2), which applies when serious bodily harm or death results from a public safety agency’s response.

The charge stems from a March 28, 2025, incident at 273 William Nye Drive SE, where Spence falsely reported an injured or deceased person. Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Spence was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing. The case remains under investigation.
