Savannah Man Arrested After Firing Gun, Injuring Woman in Reckless Incident

Joshua Britt, 29, was arrested on March 20, 2025, in connection with a reckless conduct incident that led to a non-life-threatening injury to a woman on the 100 block of W. Congress Street.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:20 AM and found the female victim with an injury. Britt was seen fleeing the scene and was apprehended shortly after. A firearm was located under a nearby vehicle. The victim was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment of an ankle wound.
Investigation revealed that Britt fired a gun at the ground while walking with the victim, causing a ricochet that struck her. Britt has been charged with reckless conduct and discharging a firearm within 50 yards of a public highway.
