On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at approximately 10:40 a.m., deputies in Arabi, GA, observed a vehicle parked in an uninhabited area on Bedgood Road. Upon investigating, they found 22-year-old Coby Pate asleep in the driver’s seat. After waking him, Pate claimed to be collecting scrap metal from nearby abandoned homes. Deputies noticed several catalytic converters in the rear seat of the vehicle, an item often associated with theft.
Upon Pate’s consent, a search revealed a glass pipe used for narcotics in the driver’s door and a .22 Magnum revolver with multiple rounds in the center console. Pate also had an active probation warrant. When asked, he admitted to having drugs on his person. A further search of his shorts led to the discovery of methamphetamine.
Pate was arrested and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. He faces charges including possession of methamphetamine, probation violation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
