Suspect Arrested for Stalking at Diamond Lakes Walking Track in Augusta
Tyrone Bernard Gaynor, Jr.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) arrested 31-year-old Tyrone Bernard Gaynor, Jr. on March 5, 2025, following reports of suspicious behavior at the Diamond Lakes walking track.

Over the past week, social media posts surfaced about a man following women at an uncomfortable distance. One Facebook post, featuring a photo of the suspect, led RCSO’s Road Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division (CID) to increase patrols in the area.

At approximately 12:53 p.m. today, deputies located Gaynor, a resident of the 3700 block of Fairington Drive, on the walking track. A victim from a prior incident on March 2, 2025, identified him as the individual she had photographed.

Following further investigation, Gaynor was arrested and charged with Misdemeanor Stalking.

RCSO urges anyone who may have been followed or harassed, or who possesses additional information or video footage, to contact their Criminal Investigations Division at 706-821-1000, message via Facebook Messenger, or email PIO@AugustaGA.gov.

Sheriff Gino Brantley emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “We appreciate the public’s assistance in these types of incidents…Together, we will make Augusta safer and better for everyone.”
