Paulding County Couple Arrested for Child Abuse Following School Report

On February 28, 2025, Paulding County Detectives responded to a local school after receiving a report of possible child abuse that occurred outside school hours. Upon arrival, detectives reviewed evidence, including statements and physical findings.
The Paulding County Child Advocacy Center conducted forensic interviews with all suspected victims while detectives observed. Investigators also interviewed potential adult witnesses before making arrests.
Following the investigation, Andrea and Wesley Thomas were taken into custody and charged with Battery and Cruelty in the First Degree. The case remains active with pending prosecution. Authorities have not released further details to protect the integrity of the investigation.
Sheriff Ashley Henson urged the community to report suspected cases of child neglect or abuse, stating, “This will not be tolerated in our community. I’m proud of the quick work and timely arrest by our detectives.”
The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Paulding County School District and the Paulding County Child Advocacy Center for their assistance in the case.
