Man Arrested for Murder After Shooting Spree in Paulding County Neighborhood

On March 1, 2025, at approximately 11:52 p.m., Paulding County deputies responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the Fox Ridge Subdivision in Dallas, Georgia. Deputies arrived at 87 Fox Ridge Court and 99 Fox Ridge Court, where they discovered multiple gunshot victims inside the residences.
Emergency personnel from Paulding County Fire and Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service provided medical aid. Two victims were critically injured. Larry Thomas Wales, 73, was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Jason Scott Muncher, 47, was also transported and remains in critical condition.
Residents inside the homes subdued the suspect, identified as Jody Thomas Wales, 52, until deputies arrived and took him into custody without incident.
Wales was booked into the Paulding County Jail and is charged with:
- Felony Murder (1 count)
- Malice Murder (1 count)
- Aggravated Assault (5 counts)
- Aggravated Battery (1 count)
- Burglary (2 counts)
- Criminal Damage to Property 1st Degree (2 counts)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (1 count)
