Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Campbellton Rd in Southwest Atlanta
UPDATE: On February 26, 2025, Atlanta Police Officers were able to identify Vincent Cunningham as the suspect driver. He was taken into custody for Homicide by Vehicle 1st and Hit & Run.

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on Campbellton Road SW late Tuesday night, February 25, 2025.
Atlanta Police Department officers responded to a pedestrian fatality accident at the intersection of Campbellton Road SW and Childress Drive SW at approximately 11:58 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a male lying in the roadway.
Grady EMS transported the male to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigation by the APD Accident Investigations Unit indicates that the victim was sitting in the roadway when a red or maroon pickup truck traveling east on Campbellton Road struck him at a low rate of speed. The vehicle continued traveling east on Campbellton Road without stopping.
The investigation is ongoing.
