U.S. Marshals Arrest Atlanta Murder Suspect in Los Angeles

On Tuesday afternoon, February 18, 2025, 33-year-old Demarco McDonald was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service in Los Angeles, California. McDonald was wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred on November 9, 2024, at 768 Pryor Street SW in Atlanta.
McDonald faces charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He was transported to a local detention center in California and will be extradited back to Atlanta, Georgia.
On November 9, 2024, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Atlanta Police Zone 3 officers responded to reports of a shooting at 768 Pryor St. SW. Before officers arrived, the victim had been transported to a hospital by private vehicle, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as 29-year-old Dequavious Hillman. Investigators with the Homicide Unit launched an investigation, leading to the arrest warrant for McDonald.
