Four Arrested in Tifton Hotel Drug Bust; Stolen Firearms Seized
The Tifton Police Department arrested four individuals and seized illegal drugs and stolen firearms following the execution of a search warrant at the Super 8 by Wyndham Tifton Hotel on February 13, 2025.
The following individuals were taken into custody:
- Emily Atwater, 28
- Malik Merritt, 28
- Jaoquinn Demonte Cunningham, 40
- Reakeidron Singleton, 20
All four suspects face charges including:
- Trafficking fentanyl
- Trafficking methamphetamine
- Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
- Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Theft by receiving stolen property
- Possession of tools for the commission of a crime
Additionally, Cunningham and Merritt were charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, while Atwater faces an additional charge of giving a false name to an officer.
During the operation, officers seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, oxycodone, marijuana, and cocaine, along with drug distribution paraphernalia. Stolen firearms were also recovered from the motel room.
The Tifton Police Department urges anyone with information regarding drug-related activity to report tips anonymously through the tip411 alert system by texting “TIFTONPD” followed by the information to 847411 or by using the Tifton PD app.
