Woman Struck and Killed After Running Across I-75 in Macon

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 75 north near Riverside Drive just after 1:40 a.m. Sunday, February 16th.

According to reports, 25-year-old Ashley Otto was driving a Kia northbound when she pulled over to the left shoulder during a disagreement with her sister, 28-year-old Victoria Otto. Victoria Otto exited the vehicle and ran across the interstate, where she was struck by an unidentified vehicle that did not stop.

Ashley Otto was transported to Atrium Health by ambulance and is listed in stable condition. Victoria Otto was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley. Next of kin has been notified.

The accident remains under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
