Three Arrested in Connection with 2017 Murder of Macon Man on Pharr Avenue

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, made multiple arrests in connection with the 2017 murder of Michael Baxley, which occurred on Pharr Avenue.
On November 6, 2017, at around 11:45 a.m., deputies responded to a report from a friend of Michael Baxley, who went to check on him at his residence at 4432 Pharr Avenue. The friend discovered the carport door slightly open and found Baxley lying unresponsive just inside the doorway of the house.
Bibb County deputies observed that Baxley, 53, had at least one gunshot wound. They immediately began processing the scene, and Baxley was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.
Following a prolonged investigation, which had been cold until recently, new information emerged, prompting investigators to re-examine the case. As a result, on February 7, 2025, arrest warrants were issued for three individuals: Hayley Wilson, Daniel Crafton, and Brittany Wilson, all in connection with Baxley’s death.
Hayley Wilson, 27, was already incarcerated at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for criminal trespassing at the time of the arrest. She was served an arrest warrant for murder while in custody.
On February 13, 2025, U.S. Marshals located and arrested 25-year-old Daniel Crafton, a Macon resident, without incident. Crafton was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
The next day, February 14, 2025, 33-year-old Brittany Wilson, also of Macon and Hayley Wilson’s sibling, was arrested. She, too, was taken into custody without incident by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Hayley Wilson, Daniel Crafton, and Brittany Wilson have all been charged with murder. They are currently being held without bond at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
