Fatal Collision in Albany Claims Life of Passenger, Driver Hospitalized

On February 14, 2025, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Albany Police officers responded to a serious injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of W Oglethorpe Blvd and S. Cleveland St.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a black Land Rover traveling eastbound on W Oglethorpe Blvd and a white Honda Accord traveling southbound on Cleveland St. The Honda was driven by 38-year-old Thomas Carr, with 41-year-old Virginia Grant as the front seat passenger. Grant later succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Land Rover, 19-year-old Perri Peek, was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with minor injuries and is in stable condition. Carr suffered an injury to his left leg.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Albany Police Traffic Unit.
