Deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrested two adults and one juvenile early Monday morning following a series of vehicle break-ins in the Hidden Lakes Subdivision.

At approximately 3:55 a.m. on February 10, 2025, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person in the neighborhood. Deputy Laethem arrived to find a vehicle with its doors open at a residence. Shortly after, the deputy observed a lone vehicle moving through the area and conducted a traffic stop.

During the investigation, deputies determined the occupants had been breaking into vehicles. One of the suspects matched the description of an individual caught on a victim’s security camera. Authorities confirmed that 14 residences and 20 vehicles had been unlawfully entered.

Inside the suspects’ vehicle, deputies recovered stolen items, including electronics, money, drugs, and two firearms—one of which had been reported stolen.

The suspects, identified as 18-year-old Kentrell Turner, 18-year-old Jayden Riggins, and a 16-year-old juvenile, all from Albany, Georgia, were taken into custody. Turner and Riggins remain incarcerated at the Sumter County Jail, while the juvenile was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office reminded residents to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables inside to help prevent similar crimes.
