Uber Driver Attacked, Car Stolen in Albany
On February 9, 2025, officers responded to a reported robbery involving an Uber driver in Albany.
The driver told police he had arrived at Town Suites on Dawson Road to pick up a customer when the passenger attacked him during the ride, choking him with the seatbelt before stealing the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Using the Flock license plate recognition system, officers tracked the stolen car. The Miller County Sheriff’s Office later recovered the vehicle and apprehended the suspect. The suspect’s identity has not been released.
