Joint Operation Leads to Arrests and Drug Seizures in Haralson County

A joint operation conducted across Haralson County on Monday, February 3, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a Buchanan man and the recovery of drugs and a firearm.

The operation, coordinated by the Haralson Crime Suppression Unit, Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force, Bremen Police Department Crime Suppression Unit, Paulding County Crime Suppression, and Paulding County K9 Unit, targeted drug-related activity in the area. During the operation, Sgt. Terry McAdams attempted to stop a silver Ford Focus for failing to maintain its lane on John Golden Road in the Draketown community.

When the vehicle came to a stop, the driver, identified as 35-year-old Corey Craig Cash, fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Sgt. McAdams and Lt. Kilgore of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office successfully apprehended Cash. A search of the vehicle uncovered a 22 revolver, a loaded syringe, and a glass pipe typically used for smoking methamphetamine. The syringe was sent for testing by the Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force.

The passenger, Donna Waits, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction. Cash, meanwhile, was charged with several offenses, including Driving While License Suspended, Failure to Maintain Lane, Possession of Drug-Related Objects, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, and Possession of a Schedule I Drug. Cash also faces a Probation Violation warrant.

Sheriff Stacy Williams praised the collaborative effort between the various law enforcement agencies. “Our commitment to eradicate the drugs that are poisoning our communities still stands,” Williams said. “We will continue these operations to target areas we receive complaints on as we push toward our goal.”
