Suspect Arrested in October 2024 Atlanta Homicide Case; Captured in Clayton County

On February 7, 2025, Atlanta Police, with assistance from the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and Clayton County Police Department, arrested 21-year-old Tyshier Denike in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on October 5, 2024.

Denike is facing charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing.

The homicide took place at 1240 Oakland Drive SW. At approximately 12:18 p.m. on October 5, Atlanta Police Zone 4 officers responded to reports of a shooting and discovered a 28-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

Investigators launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident. As a precaution, the Atlanta Police Department’s SWAT team was also deployed to the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
