Ranger Man and Accomplice Arrested After Brutal Domestic Attack on Woman

On the night of Sunday, January 12, deputies responded to a report of an assault at a home on Knight Road in the Ranger, Georgia, community. Upon arrival, Gordon County deputies discovered a 39-year-old woman who had been severely beaten in the face and head with a blunt instrument. The woman identified her domestic partner as the attacker, who had fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival.
The officers immediately ensured the safety of the victim and her children, removing them from the scene, and launched a search for the suspect. On the morning of January 13, deputies located the suspect, 36-year-old Jeffery Scott McCullough, hiding at a third party’s residence. He was apprehended without incident and charged with Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Cruelty to Children (3rd degree).
In addition to McCullough, 36-year-old Joshua Otis Grizzle of Ranger was arrested for aiding McCullough in evading law enforcement. Both men are currently held in the Gordon County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
