Mechanicsville Shooting: Suspect Arrested in Homicide of 19-Year-Old

On January 17, 2025, 42-year-old Travis Williams was arrested by the Atlanta Police Department in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old male on January 16, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 9:43 PM at 259 Richardson Street SW in the Mechanicsville neighborhood.

Responding officers found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. Homicide Unit investigators launched an investigation, which led to Williams’ arrest the following day.

Travis Williams faces charges of Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm By a Convicted Felon. He has been transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing.
